Hues of Happiness and Heat Embossing

As we continue to explore the Hues of Happiness suite, today I am sharing one of my favourite techniques with this suite which is heat embossing. 

Heat embossing was one of the first skills I learnt when I first began papercrafting about 17 years ago!!  I remember thinking how clever it was that the powder turned to solid, shiny ink with just a bit of heat from the heat gun to create an amazing effect and this technique used today on our patterned papers fills me with just as much joy now too.

For these cards I have used the "back" of the patterned papers which show solid colour canvases instead of the beautiful flowers on the "front" of the papers.  I have heat embossed them using versamark and white embossing powder and then die cut them out.  

Which is your favourite?  White or Black backgrounds??  The wonderful glossy dots in this suite add a touch of glamour and sparkle to the project which otherwise have a neat, clean and simple design to them.
